my setup

i mostly use my laptop connected to a secondary screen for all my work, but i also own a desktop - nothing fancy, but its nice to own a linux machine for some other stuff. i managed to get rid of windows as my main os, and i only use it on a vm when there is really no other option. i change my mousemat a lot, because i like to have some variety and a breath of fresh air from time to time - it has to be one of the large ones tho.

laptop

my laptop

its the device i use the most - a 2021 14" space grey macbook pro with m1 pro chip (10 core cpu, 16 core gpu). it has 16 gbs of unified memory and 1 tb of storage - not the top spec model but its more than enough for me. i got it at the end of 2025 and ive been in love with it ever since. the quality is just insane and the performance is amazing. im still impressed with the screen and the speakers - they are an absolute game changer.

pc

the desktop

its an absolute piece of junk, but it gets the job done and never failed me in the years ive had it. its a dell optiplex 3050 sff with an i3 7100, rx 550 2gb gpu, 8gbs of ddr4 ram and 256gbs of nvme storage + 1tb hdd. i also have a cd drive in it, which came in handy a lot throughout the years - as of recent it was used for burning audio cds for the most part. i use arch linux on it (i really want to switch to gentoo), and it runs like a charm.

accessories

my mouse is a six year old logitech g pro wireless, although it want to replace it with a lilac g305. my keyboard is keychron v10 max - its an alice layout keyboard with red prelubed switches and some custom keycaps i threw on here. i own three pairs of headphones - a pair of oem samsung akg wired earbuds, an isk audio hp-580 headset, and a pair of sony wf-1000xm5's. id love to get myself a thunderbolt docking station but i dont really have money for that right now.

other stuff

its hard to describe all im using in here, but i own a bunch of laptops, phones, and other tech stuff. i love thinkpads and i have a small collection myself - my favourite ones being the x61 and t420. id love to dive into the world of custom motherboards for them but being a student - im broke as hell and i simply cant afford stuff like this. i own two monitors that i switch around depending on what i feel like - a 27 inch NEC monitor (1080p, ips, has all of the ports you could ever imagine) and a 27 inch samsung odyssey g5 (1440p, va, 144hz). as my main phone im using an iphone 15 pro thats been abused for over two years now and its still a perfect phone for me - although it desperatly needs a new battery and the usb c port while still functional - its really loose, forcing me to charge it via magsafe sometimes. as of recent i started reading some books and got myself an e-reader - specifically an onyx boox air 4c. its a great device although i thought ill use it for taking notes aswell but i prefer writing on paper with a pen. i also use my jbl go 2 bluetooth speaker sometimes, but since i got my drivers licence i mostly listen to music from my car.

my car

speaking of - i got my drivers license not that long ago! i got myself a 2003 mk4 golf with a 1.6 petrol engine and manual transmission. while its not anywhere near being my dream car - i really enjoy drving it. its not a fast car by any means - it has just about 105 horsepower, but it gets me from point a to point b and im having a great time gaining experience and learning how to drive. its in pretty good condition, the mileage is less than 200k kilometers (so pretty good for that age) and it really well speced - it has an automatic ac, electric windows, upgraded sound system and some silver accents. although i wish it had leather seats and a sunroof i still love it and im really happy with it. i also installed a carplay display in it, which might be a bit controversial but its not installed permanently and really makes my life easier - especially when it comes to navigation. im currently saving money to buy myself something nicer - a 2nd gen audi tt really catching my eye, but for now im really happy with the golf.

everyday carry

i carry around a lot of stuff everyday. i always have my phone, wallet and keys on me - no suprise there. i also usually have a notebook and a pen with me - useful for taking notes, an usb stick with all my most important files, a calculator for school, my earbuds (cant imagine my life without them), a magsafe powerbank since the usb port in my phone is absolutely cooked, an usb-c charger. recently i started carrying my ereader with me everyday and i wouldnt go back - its a great way of killing some time when i have nothing to do in school. i always have a huge bottle of lipton green ice tea on me - its my favourite drink and a pack of chewing gum. i keep everything in a black dickies backpack, thats not very spacious but it fits all my stuff and i really like it. i cant imagine leaving my house without jewelery on - i always wear a silver chain my girlfriend got me and a silver casio watch that i got myself recently.
